After learning the tricks of the trade from his father, Kunaal Kumar in 2005 re-launched Modern Bazaar, a chain of exclusive retail outlets in Delhi-NCR.
With this video, Kunaal Kumar shares his words of wisdom on re-engineering retail business during the ongoing COVID 19 situation. From following sanitization practices to introducing cashless tractions at the retail stores, ensuring a minimum number of people to shop at a time and opening different avenues for customers to reach out to the store are some of the key initiatives he has adopted across his stores.
Here’s an extract of the video:
At the start of the COVID19 pandemic and once the lockdown was announced we at Modern Bazaar have been following a strict sanitization protocol in all our stores, we only allow a limited number of customers into the store each time to insist on social distancing between them during the shopping process. This number would vary depending on the size of the store and the customer is given a time limit within which to buy what they need. Given our experience we are now focused more on the online delivery channel as there are lot of customers who are hesitant to come to our store or a market to make purchases. The third part of our strategy is to move to cashless payments as much as possible this could take the form of credit or debit cards, online transfers, wallets etc. with the objective of listening customer interactions with the cashier and the physical handling of cash. These are some of the steps that we have taken since the outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic to ensure the safety of not only our customers but also of our staffs. Thank you!
